About WEN Foundation

The Foundation for the Women’s Energy Network is a 501(c) (3) organization that functions as the philanthropic and educational arm of the Women’s Energy Network. Our purpose is to extend the mission of the Women’s Energy Network by providing scholarships, grants, and educational opportunities to develop current and future leaders.

Our Story

In 1994, when Karyl White created the Women’s Energy Network, she envisioned not only a global network of women supporting women in the energy sector, she also recognized a need to support the related philanthropic endeavors of that unique network. Founded in 2016, the WEN Foundation is the vehicle for the second pillar of the Founder’s vision and operates as the philanthropic and educational arm of the Women’s Energy Network and its chapters.

In addition to providing grants, scholarships, and programs, the WEN Foundation works with WEN Global, WEN Chapters, and corporate sponsors to establish Education Funds that help provide scholarships, grants, charitable and educational programming.  These restricted funds allow donors to make donations that specifically address the needs of local chapters, constituencies, and communities.

These investments will equip individuals entering or working in the energy industry with the skills needed to navigate the evolving energy landscape and position them for career transformation and broader industry impact.

Strategic partnerships enhance the Foundation’s reach and ensure that programs align with industry needs. These collaborations solidify WEN’s role as a catalyst for meaningful change within the energy sector.

Thanks to a diverse, engaged network of generous scholarships provided by corporate and individual donors, the Foundation, with WEN and its community of partners, has provided grants and scholarships to over 100 recipients totaling over $500,000 to support, develop, and sustain current and future leaders and their careers in the energy industry.
